The Harris County Precinct 2 Facility Security Division is tasked with providing direct and oversight security to the facilities occupied by our Office and the Justice of the Peace courts we serve. Tasked by the mandates of Texas Law, our Facility Security Division deputies are an integral element of the courtroom security process. It is their goal to provide our judges with a courtroom and ancillary security presence that will ensure their well-being and the well-being of all in attendance within the courtroom. The deputies of the Facility Security Division commonly referred to as “bailiffs”, are charged with identifying potential threats to the judges, court personnel, and attending county residents. They operate in a constant state of assessment and act in a manner meant to facilitate a safe and expeditious flow of operations within the courtroom.
