Toll Road Division

and 2 Sergeants. Deputies assigned to this division work in association with other Law Enforcement Agencies and the Harris County Toll Road Authority (HCTRA) by contract to enforce state and local traffic laws on the surrounding Harris County toll-ways. The Toll Road Division is ultimately responsible for facilitating the flow of traffic on the toll roads and providing security for the patrons who utilize them. Our Deputies are the first responders for all incidents that occur on the toll road. Among those duties include disturbances, DWIs, stranded motorists, and traffic accidents.

Deputies assigned to the Toll Road Division are often trained in the areas of accident investigation/reconstruction, crime scene photography, and RADAR/LIDAR. Targeting speeding, reckless driving, and or impaired drivers is our goal to prevent and reduce injuries or accidents.

Harris County Precinct 2 is tasked with patrolling the South Sam Houston Parkway Eastbound, between Interstate 45 (Gulf Freeway) to Mykawa Road. The Sam Houston Tollway is currently the outer-most loop encompassing the City of Houston and surrounding areas within Harris County. The adjacent frontage roads along most of the Sam Houston Tollway and certain portions of the main lanes (freeway) that are not tolled are commonly known as the Beltway 8 and fall under the Texas Department of Transportation jurisdiction.

The toll roads are operated by HCTRA. For questions about toll violations, please visit HCTRA’s website.
